Gordon cellar door size chart
The CD doors are sloped units that sit on a flat foundation. Gordon sizes them to the entryway: measure the inside length and width of the areaway walls, then match the row below. Door height (H) must be greater than the distance from the top of the foundation to the top of the basement door opening. Gordon does not recommend walls thinner than 6".

RD replacement doors
RD doors are flat units for existing entryways with sloped sidewalls of concrete, brick, fieldstone or block. They ship with side rails instead of steel sides. Pick a length at least 2" longer than the inside opening and a width at least 4" wider, without running past the outside of the walls. Sizes below are outside frame dimensions; extension headers are ordered separately.

What comes in the box with a Gordon cellar door?
Foundation plates are steel angles that adapt an odd-size or rough foundation, such as fieldstone or broken concrete, to a standard door without forming and pouring a new cap. Gordon makes them 3" on one leg, 5", 8", 11" or 14" on the other, in standard 7' lengths cut to fit in the field with a metal-cutting blade.
Each door ships with assembly instructions and the hardware to install it. Doors are dip-coated in alkyd resin primer; Gordon calls for a coat of exterior alkyd enamel promptly after installation.
